Gateway Management, a Turkish company that has been providing visa application and technology services on behalf of the diplomatic missions of 27 countries as a partner of VFS Global since its establishment in 2002, worked with LAMP 83 for the lighting of the new visa application centre in the Ofton Elysium Soul building in Dolapdere, Istanbul.
Working with MAAK Architecture for the lighting concept of the 4.000 m2 centre consisting of four floors, LAMP 83 illuminated the office complex with a total of 811 products from 38 different versions.
Within the scope of the project, in which the lighting criteria of the visa centre of different countries for which services are provided were taken into consideration, the visual comfort of the staff and the applicants who want to obtain visa was taken into consideration. For this reason, LAMP 83’s low glare (UGR≤19) L-UGR, OPTIO, ARK-S product families as well as products such as BRIGHT, PRIDE, Wals, Karo were used according to the spaces.
In different operative units of the visa centre such as biometric booths, application counters, waiting areas and VIP application areas, different lighting solutions were applied according to different illumination levels. On the long application counters and open office desks, uninterrupted light lines were created thanks to the project-specific versions of the ARK family, which continue without light leakage for long periods of time.
Architect Mehmet Aydın spoke about the lighting needs in the project, for which project management and field application consultancy was provided by Maak Architecture:
After our architectural project was finalised, we exchanged ideas with the LAMP 83 team in the processes of lighting design and calculations, project and product selection & placement. After an intensive working process, all of the different needs within the project were met, while the desired comfort was provided in terms of both products and illumination levels. As a result, a very good work has emerged.
