A large part of the illumination of the 98.000 m2 ALTUNİZADE hospital of ACIBADEM, the leading brand of Turkish healthcare sector, was undertaken by LAMP 83, which supplies more than 14,000 products for the project.

LAMP 83, which undertook responsibility for technical illumination of this huge project, worked with Architect Sinan Kafadar and Architect Didem Çalışkan Gençsoy of Metex Design Group under the coordination of Electrical Engineer Sepken Çelik from Acıbadem Project Management Group.

LAMP 83 produced a total of 14,000 luminaires for Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital, with 50 different types, both for mass production standard products and custom-made product solutions developed according to the needs of the project.

Within the targets given to LAMP 83 by Acıbadem Project Management and Metex Design Group for the Project, in terms of lighting a complete separation was needed between the medical fields such as MR, Ultrason, corridors and the areas where people are resting such as reception, banks, eating and drinking areas, waiting rooms,

In these areas, a light color of 3000K was preferred in order to make people feel at home or in a comfortable social environment, not as if they were in hospital. Thus, in these general usage areas, the level of visual comfort has been increased and a feeling of comfortable environment has been created.

How It Was Lightened?

Barrisol was preferred over patient beds in places where both the medical and recreational areas intersected, such as the patient's room. Same visual way and lighting devices which are highlighted as a design language for the whole hospital were also used in rooms. The decorative lighting devices, that were located in public spaces, also contributed more to the space, in terms of light effect and visual sense.

LAMP 83 produced 50 different types of lighting devices, the majority of which were project-specific custom-made designs, such as surface mounted, spot and outdoor lighting.

In addition, some of the Italian Goccia’s products, which LAMP 83 cooperated with for more than 20 years, were also used in outdoor areas. At present, more than 14.000 LAMP 83 products continue to illuminate within the Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital project.

Who evaluated the works of LAMP 83 made under the project, spoke as follows. ‘The products of LAMP 83 are not only technically illuminated but also act more or less a decorative lighting fixture, in addition to providing the light level and color we are seeking technically. Thanks to the successful use of different diffusers or reflectors within the products without changing visual perception, transitions between different locations or architectural areas were very successful’. We preferred LAMP 83 because they could meet the demands and needs of the project in both visual and technical terms. LAMP 83 provided all kinds of assistance both in technical and budgetary sense as a solution partner throughout the project. We would like to thank LAMP 83, their Project, R & D and Sales departments in particular. From the very beginning of the project, they worked on both the lighting field and the product designs to satisfy Acıbadem Project Management”.
